My baby is 3 months old and has been extremely fussy this week. She also has had trouble with pooping and keeping food down. I noticed she was also very gassy. Gas drops and gripe water were no longer doing the job and I was uncomfortable giving her sugary juices or artificial sweeteners.
So, like I always do, I took to the internet to find a solution. I remembered reading about red rooibos tea a while back and it popped up again. After reading a few articles, I brewed 1 bag of red rooibos tea and mixed it with 2 bags of camomile tea in some alkaline water. I then mixed 2 ounces of the tea with 1 ounce of breast milk. She was hesitant to drink it and drank about 3/4 of an ounce of the mix. She burped a few times and is currently in her swing SLEEPING PEACEFULLY. Something she hasn’t done in days. The crying stopped. The spitting up stopped.
I think the thing I like most about this situation is the fact that this tea is traditionally used in South Africa and has a ton of nutrional benefits. I put the rest in the fridge for later. Miracle! Colic be gone!
I am not a medical professional. This is just something that worked for us.
