Have you ever stopped in your tracks because you feared your next words or actions would bring undesirable results? Have you ever made the choice to stop being fully yourself because you were afraid of people knowing the real you? Have you ever dulled your shine in order to blend in and not stand out?
I have. Many times.
I have been in positions where I was able to lead the way, but because I was afraid of attention or power or pressure, I quit. I gave up. I stopped. And you know what happens if you do that too many times? You begin to question if who you are is really who you should be. Doubt sets in and your thoughts begin to circulate around the fear. And before you know it the fear has cornered you into stagnation. The fear of what? Anything. For each of us, the object of our fear may vary, but the bottomline is much the same. We are afraid and this fear has placed a limit on our life.
Giving in to fear takes away your power. By telling fear to step in and take over, you are denying yourself and the world you influence of the contributions only you can create.
Imagine your life if you never limited yourself. Your gifts became your default. Your talents became something you walked in with confidence. Your personality became your badge of honor.
Imagine living in a world where you did what you loved and never dealt with negativity or dream killers.
Imagine being so filled with peace and contentment about your life that you let go and gave everything you touched your all.
I can tell you that stepping outside of your comfort zone and challenging yourself to operate in your gifts and calling brings rewards not measurable on earth. The Lord is waiting for His creation to operate in its purpose. We have all been made and created intentionally. Not one of us is on this earth without a God given calling and purpose. Many times, we allow fear of so many things that usually never even happen stop us from living out loud.
I am here to tell you that shrinking down and internalizing is NOT your calling. The fact that you are reading this is a clear sign that you know there is more to life than what you’ve experienced so far and the door is wide open for you to walk in and just BE.
BE YOU. Every single day make the decision to live out your dreams, big and small.
Take inventory of the way you see yourself at your highest level of success. What does that look like? What do you do for a living? How do you dress? What do you want people to associate with you? What consistently brings you joy? Then each day, take a step in the direction of those dreams. The smallest step in the right direction begins the journey of the rest of your life. You don’t have to tackle your list in any particular order, but I encourage you to do something on your list or related to an item on your list every single day. Anything counts!
Let go of the fear and live in the moment.
I believe in you.
