Stay the Course

How easy it is to be discouraged on this journey! We have so many distractions on the left and on the right. Everywhere you turn, there is something stopping (or trying to stop) you from doing what you’ve set out to do and what you really need or even want to do.
We have the goal in front of us, but along the way, there are obstacles and hurdles we must climb, there are pit stops we must go through, there is debris and clutter that must be cleared. There is work that must be done. When the Lord has given you an assignment, the battle begins. The enemy wants nothing more than to see you fail at whatever it is your heart is set to do for the Kingdom of God. His desire is that you stay stagnant, that you quit, become deflated, and give up. But you were called to be more than a conqueror. You have already won this battle. God fights for you.
As a believer, you need only to be still and rest in the promises and provision the Lord provides for you. Don’t get caught up in the “what ifs” of life or the difficulty of the matter. Give the weight to the Lord and exchange it for His peace. He is able to sustain you and keep you on the right path, but you must surrender your own will, strength, and ability to Him.
We have so many plans and visions for our own lives, that we often don’t even seek the Father first. We think we can figure this out and go from there, but the Lord has orchestrated your life up until this point, so why would He stop now? He is the same yesterday, today, and forevermore. Nothing about Him changes, meaning nothing He asks of us changes. When He said to seek Him diligently, that applied then and it applies now. When we are instructed to cast our cares on Him because He cares for us, that means now and tomorrow and the day after.
Every single day of our lives He is there and He is available to our every need. At no point are we to lean on our own understanding. At no point are we to trust our own plans we come up with without His guidance. Every lesson and every challenge requires a fresh encounter with the Lord and new directions from Him. Life is not meant to be lived on autopilot. We are not meant to struggle at the bottom forever or even float through the middle. The grace of God is here to guide us through to new heights and glory after glory. You have an obligation to your own life to seek the face of the Lord Jesus regularly and consistently.
When we seek the Lord consistently, we are opening ourselves up to growth and progression. There is always more in Jesus. There is always more in the hands of the Father. He always wants to take you higher and deeper in the things of the Kingdom. Life comes at us with new challenges all the time, it’s only right that we seek the One who knows all things in every situation.
I encourage you to seek His face daily. Ask, seek, knock without ceasing. Don’t stop praying. Don’t stop pressing in. Don’t stop¬†worshiping. Don’t stop studying and growing in your faith. There is so much more God has in store for you!
Be blessed.
